Over the river, through the woods, you name it! Here's how to keep everyone jolly all the way to Grandmother's house.

If you’re a parent, the thought of spending more than an hour or two on the road can be pretty intimidating!  Children tend to get antsy during long car rides and sometimes it seems like there's just no way to please everyone.  Not to worry!  Here are a few things to keep in mind for your holiday family road trip.  With these tricks up your sleeve, you are guaranteed to keep everyone laughing all the way!

-Let the kids have a say.  This can be as simple as stopping at one roadside attraction or letting them have a milkshake after dinner.

-Reward good behavior.  Put a stop to backseat bickering by offering a prize.  For example, one complaint-free hour means the child can choose where you stop for lunch, or can stay in the hotel pool that night a little longer.

-Create a vacation scrapbook.  One child can be in charge of taking pictures, another can log daily activities in a journal, and one can collect mementos throughout the trip.

-Of course, bring plenty of toys, books, and crayons!
